Scale can make a huge difference. If you bear this in mind as you approach your next large project, you might save a lot of time, energy and frustration.

Think through:

1. What is the best use of your energy on a project? Can some members of your team handle parts of the project that you were planning on doing?

2. Don’t build a skyscraper when a two-story building will do. Assess the scope of what is truly needed and build out accordingly.

3. Put your best efforts into the areas that will yield the highest rewards. Example: If you are a web design firm, your site should look top-notch. Having multiple pages and several layers of information may not be as important as a really good looking home page.

4. Think through ways your efforts can be used again. That’s a good use of scale!

So good luck with that project.
